Tag Line: In 2019, The Most Precious Natural Resource... Is Us
Brief Summary:

All's fine and dandy, but without a steady stream of juicy humans, the vampires themselves face extinction from a badly managed food supply chain, and a mutation stemmed from malnutrition which will turn them into mindless bat-monsters to show off what the special effects and makeup crew can do for a film like this.

So the vampires commission Edward Dalton (Ethan Hawke) to come up with artificial plasma substitutes that can ensure continued vampire lifestyles (of buzzing nightlife) except that Edward has that soft spot for humankind given that he was turned into a vampire much against his wishes. His desire to help humans comes for real when he chances upon a rare group of escaping human refugees, with whom he bands together in a search for a cure to vampirism.

In a world 10 years into the future, vampires make up the vast majority of the population with only 5% of the human race remaining. This presents particular challenges as the vampires' food supply - human blood - is dwindling and rationing is now the norm. Dr. Edward Dalton, a vampire and hematologist who works for a pharmaceutical firm, has been working on finding an artificial blood supply that will meet the vampire society's needs. D
Scenario: 6.5/10
Cinematographic: 6.5/10

Overall: 6.6/10

When you see this movie you'll notice that blood is sweet and juicy! (Anonymous said)

Tag Line: Some will kill to have it. He will kill to protect it
Brief Summary:

THE BOOK OF ELI is set 30 years in the future where a major war has left few people behind and a lot of environmental changes. The main character is Eli (Denzel Washington), who is on a mission of hope and is protecting a special book that is said to offer its owner large amounts of power to guide, lead, control, and manipulate with it.

Eli and Solara are rowing across the shallow waters of the Pacific Ocean to Alcatraz Island. On reaching the island, Eli tells the guards that he has an intact King James Bible. Back at Carnegie's office in his town, an engineer is carefully trying to pick the lock on the book Carnegie wrested from Eli. Eli says his bible is 'beat up, but will do the job.'

Back at Carnegie's office, the engineer finally manages to trigger the lock and open the book taken from Eli. Eli has Lombardi's people bring Lombardi large stacks of paper and begins to recite the Bible from memory, having memorized it over thirty years of re-reading. Carnegie has Claudia brought to his office to read the Braille bible. Claudia knows that Solara hasn't returned and blames Carnegie.

As Eli's prayer continues, we see the Alcatraz printing press making a freshly prepared hardcover print copy of the completed King James Bible, and we see Solara kneeling over Eli's grave, showing he has finally died from his injuries. We see Solara stepping out of the gates of the Alcatraz compound as Eli's voiceover prayer thanks God for Solara's friendship, and for God to watch over her as He has watched over Eli himself. We see Solara sheathe Eli's machete over her shoulder, and plug the earphones to his iPod into her ears.(by Adam Dwyne - abcdMOVIE)
